it's a shame there had to be a winner, but a good choice anyhow. A great show which goes to show that the recent trend for art to be an intellectual parlour game.

It's a good painting. It displays an engagement with paint, without being overwrought. Never heard of Katy Moran, but her work is the same - maybe a little more overwrought. Honestly, I don;t give a shit if you reveal your process - I'm too old to worry about that noise - isn't that conversation a bit dated anyways? Superficial resemblances are often just that - people are more alike than you'd like to think, as a genius artist, or with your Romantic post-enlightenment notion of genius, the hand of the artist and so on. I'm not going to close the patent office, but I;m certainly going to stop issuing patents because somehting looks a bit like something else. grow the fuck up.
