An ironic tree? This work could be a deadpan comment on traditional painting. I only hope it is intentional. If the artist is just painting a straightforward tree, then this is discouraging. Please tell me I'm missing something.

Dear new version of A.Painter can you please include a link to the website when you list the show
thank you

I'm confused. The tree is nothing like the rest of his work which is more painterly in a Luc Tuymens kind of way. The two trees are odd ones out. Either this is intentional, as cross hopes for, or it's a poorly curated show. Anyway, the whole site is slightly naff and I stopped scrolling after a while.

A rather unusual set of paintings going on her previous body of work, but then thats the modus operandi of the contemporary painter/artists -change, dont keep still avoid definition. Which while, seems to be a finger up to the gallery system (blah blah). Now I dont accuse Mr Pacheco of these frivolities but .... far for me to cast judgement, however as a "le point de débat" it's a worthy topic.

The orange has become predominantly a symbol of fertility; if it is depicted in Paradise, it is the fruit of the Fall. This sexual connotation is then taken into such literature as Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson- a troublesome read narrating that the authors mother had never heard of mixed feelings. There werejust friends and there were enemies. Enemies were the: Devil, Next Door and Sex. Friends were: God

When dealing with art, in the absence of explanation, one must presume a hidden profundity.

@Prof. Chaviuer what's your field? tenuous links?!
not much to say about Pacheco... looks like he jumped on the Tuyman's train along with many others.

au contraire, I have analysed the work briefly semiotically and contextualised it within a modern practice.

My field is that of a (retired) cultural historian, working many years in a prestigious faculty known for its radical thinking.
